Rangers Trade Dylan McIlrath To Panthers

In a surprising move, New York Rangers general manager Jeff Gorton has traded Dylan McIlrath to the Florida Panthers in exchange for Steve Kampfer and a conditional 7th round pick.

Logistically, the draft pick is reliant on the number of games McIlrath features in for the Panthers this season.

Drafted tenth overall in 2010, McIlrath has been labelled a bust despite playing the second most games of a Rangers first round pick since 2010. Over 38 career games with the Rangers, McIlrath has scored two goals, assisted two goals and has garnered four points with a +/- rating of six.

A fourth round pick in 2007 by Anaheim, Kampfer has been in and out of lineups during his time with the Boston Bruins, Minnesota Wild and Panthers. Over six seasons in the league, Kampfer has scored nine goals, assisted 14 and garnered 23 points. Kampfer’s +/- rating is eight.
