This is a great sign for the Knicks as the lack of muscle on his body was a glaring weakness for Porzingis heading into the draft.
The added muscle will help Porzingis develop a back to the basket game while also helping him with his interior defense.
While he still probably needs to continue to add muscle, this should help Porzingis tremendously during his rookie season. He won’t be tremendously overpowered by the bruising big men that he is certainly going to face.
The work ethic Porzingis has displayed since being drafted by the Knicks is a great thing. It shows that he truly does want to be great and he will do whatever is necessary to achieve that. Porzingis is on the right track to becoming a superstar and not the next Shawn Bradley or Darko Millicic.
