Early, 25, will likely be placed in the D-League while he continues to rehab his hamstring injury, therefore not taking up one of the Knicks 15 roster spots up for grabs.
Drafted 34th overall in the 2014 NBA Draft out of Wichita State, Cleanthony Early has had a tough time impressing Knicks brass as he averaged 1.8 points per game over 17 games for the team last season before seeing his season shortened due to a right knee injury.
Over four different assignments for the Knicks D-League affiliate, Westchester, Early averaged 15.6 points per game and 7.3 rebounds per game over seven appearances.
