The New York Islanders have re-signed Shane Prince on a two-year deal worth $850K per year.

Prince was acquired at the trade deadline last year with the Ottawa Senators 2016 seventh round draft pick in exchange for New York’s third round selection in the same year.
The 23-year-old forward played 42 games in Ottawa before being acquired by the Islanders, in which he scored three goals. He matched that goal total in just 20 games with the Islanders, providing depth on the third and fourth lines.
Prince really shined in the playoffs, where he scored three key goals and contributed an assist in just 11 games.

Prince will continue to provide speed and scoring on the bottom two lines, and should see some time on the penalty kill unit as well.
